QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A NEVADA NOTARY PUBLIC
In order to become a notary public in Nevada, you must meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Nevada, or a resident of a bordering state and be regularly employed in Nevada
• Not have your civil rights currently withheld
• Complete a course of study pursuant to NRS 240.018
• Have not had a notary public appointment revoked or suspended in Nevada or any other state or territory of the United States
* The Secretary of State may require that applicants submit a complete set of their fingerprints and give written permission to the Secretary of State to forward the fingerprints to the Central Repository for Nevada Records of Criminal History for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for its report. If fingerprints are required, the applicant must also submit the fees charged for processing the fingerprints.
